Suspect in recent Columbia shooting arrested, police say
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A suspect in a recent Columbia shooting was arrested Wednesday, a Columbia police official said at the scene.
The arrest happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday near Oakland Gravel Road and Smiley Lane. Police did not identify the suspect or give information about the specific shooting the suspect was allegedly involved in.
An ABC 17 News reporter saw at least two police cars that had pulled a woman over for a traffic stop near Smiley Lane. Police say the traffic stop was related to the arrest, but could not provide any more details.
Recent shootings in the Columbia area include one on West Bellview Drive on April 22 where a 31-year-old man was shot and killed, and a 5-year-old was injured. Two homes in Columbia were also hit with gunfire on April 26. And two people were shot in March on Demaret Drive, east of Columbia.
