A Holts Summit man was sentenced to eight years in prison on Jan. 3 in relation to a 2021 robbery in Jefferson City.

Tyler Steven Mitchell Williams pleaded guilty in federal court on April 12, 2022 for brandishing a gun. In addition to the eight-year sentence, he was ordered to have a supervised release period for three years.

Williams was initially charged with first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. He was accused of robbing a Dollar General in the 1400 block Missouri Boulevard. He was indicted by a grand jury in August 2021.

A store employee told police that a masked man in dark clothing demanded money from the cash register at gunpoint. The clerk gave him the money and was not injured.
