A Chesterfield man who was convicted in relation to an attempted shooting at a funeral home was sentenced Friday at the Moniteau County Courthouse.

Bradley E. Duncan, 57, was sentenced to a total of 34 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. He received 15 years for first-degree domestic assault, another 15 years for armed-criminal action and four years for unlawful use of a weapon. The sentences were ordered to be served consecutively, according to press release from the Miller County prosecuting attorney’s office.

Duncan was found guilty by a Moniteau County jury in October. The trial was heard in Moniteau County after a change of venue was declared in March. The trial was initially set in Miller County.  The jury determined Duncan tried to shoot and kill his ex-wife at Millard Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon on April 21, 2021.

A press release stated 34 years is the maximum sentence allowed. The release also stated Missouri law requires a minimum of 85% of a sentence to be served for armed criminal action and first-degree domestic assault.
