A Jefferson City man was charged in relation to a September 2021 shooting near Vibez Lounge on Fifth Street in Columbia.

Wayne Warmack, 38, is charged with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, both felonies. He is being held at the Boone County Jail on a $100,000 bond. An arraignment hearing was held Wednesday at the Boone County Courthouse.

A confined docket hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, while a preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Nov. 9.

Three people were shot on Sept. 18. One victim was shot in the back and became paralyzed from the waist down, according to a probable cause statement. Another person was shot in the arm, while a third was shot in the hand.

Warmack has prior felony convictions and is not allowed to own a firearm. During the investigation, law enforcement searched Warmack's social media accounts and saw several images of him with guns. There was also allegedly a video posted to Snapchat showing him fire a gun eight times out the driver-side window of a car, according to the probable cause statement.

His girlfriend allegedly pawned a 9 mm gun at a Family Pawn location in Jefferson City two months after the shooting occurred. The gun was purchased by another person, law enforcement contacted that individual in August and obtained the gun from them for evidence.
