Two people shot in downtown Columbia early Saturday morning

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department has confirmed two people were shot in the 10th block of N. Fifth St. in downtown Columbia on Saturday morning.

ABC 17 News Crews on scene saw one person being taken off in a stretcher and at least 10 evidence markers on the ground.

According to a press release from CPD, "Police located several victims who had sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals for medical care. Their conditions are unknown at this time. "

The shooting happened around 2:30 Saturday morning. CPD says the victims shot were moderately injured in the incident.

Police cleared the scene just after 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning, after towing a car from the scene.

The police department is currently looking for suspects in the shooting.

This is an ongoing investigation.  More information may become available at a later date.
