Jefferson City man charged with statutory rape

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man is accused of raping a person under the age of 17.

A Cole County prosecutor has charged Robert J. Fisher with second-degree statutory rape.

The victim told police that they talked with Fisher via text message and that the victim was under 17.

The victim told police and showed text messages that indicated that they had sex multiple times with Fisher, according to the probable cause statement.

According to court documents, Fisher admitted to having sex with the victim and knowing the victim was under the age of 17.

Fisher is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond. Fisher was arraigned on Friday.

Fisher does not have a defense attorney listed, according to online court records.
