BELLFLOWER, Mo. (KMIZ)
An Illinois man was arrested on Thursday after a standoff with deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department.
On Thursday, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received information that Charles Story, 40, of Beardstown, Ill. was at a residence off of Elm Street in Bellflower.
Story is wanted for questioning for his possible involvement in the disappearance of Beverly Logan. Story also has several outstanding warrants for his arrest out of the State of Illinois. On Thursday afternoon after getting permission, deputies searched the house on Elm Street and found Story had barricaded himself in a hidden room toward the rear of the house.
Officials say that Story said he was armed and he would shoot anyone who tried to gain entry to the room and then shoot himself. Story also advised that he was injured and had been shot in the leg several days prior.
After a brief stand-off, Story exited the room and was taken into custody without incident.
