Deputies: Woman attacked during Camden County burglary

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Camden County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary and assault that left a woman hospitalized.

According to a news release, it happened at 11 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 2000 block of Lick Creek Road. A 70-year-old woman told deputies she came home and a stranger assaulted her.

Deputies said a neighbor found the woman after a family member asked the neighbor to check on her. The woman was taken to Lake Regional Hospital and then flown to University Hospital in Columbia. Deputies said she was severely beaten.

The sheriff's office is still trying to find the woman's attacker and is asking for the public's help. Anyone with information about this case can call the Camden County Sheriff's Office at 573-346-2243. The sheriff's office said callers can stay anonymous.
