Court documents detail Columbia knife attack
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man was charged on Friday after he allegedly cut woman multiple times with a box cutter knife.
Police responded to the home in the 200 block of Park Avenue around 4:30 a.m. on Friday after a woman called and told police she was being stabbed.
When officers arrived, they found Larry W. Galbreath on top of the victim with the knife, according to a probable cause statement. The victim was bleeding and had multiple lacerations to her face and right arm, court documents said. Three children were at home at the time of the attack.
Police had to use a stun gun on Galbreath to get him off of the victim and arrested Galbreath.
Galbreath kicked one officer in the groin and another officer in the face while in custody, court documents said.
The victim was taken to the hospital and was sent to the trauma unit, according to court documents.
Galbreath was charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, kidnapping, first-degree burglary, endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest and third-degree assault.
