Tracking another round of rain and storms tonight into Thursday
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with isolated storms early, becoming more widespread again tonight. Lows in the upper 50s to around 60.
TOMORROW: Scattered showers and storms with highs in the lower 70s.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking a few spotty storms trying to develop this afternoon across eastern and southeast Missouri, and a complex of storms in southwest Missouri that will bring another round of widespread rain later tonight. These isolated early storms through sunset will need to be watched for tornado potential, especially in our far eastern counties and back toward St. Louis. The risk is low, but possible near the warm front that is set up along the Missouri River. Tonight, the severe weather risk will be low, but there could be some localized flooding across southern portions of Mid-Missouri within the flood watch. A cold front works through tomorrow, bringing a chance for scattered showers and storms on Thursday. This clears the area on Friday, but a disturbance to our north could bring some light showers on Friday. Storms are not expected. We finally clear out for the weekend with sunshine and highs in the 70s. Next week looks dry for a long stretch, with temperatures gradually warming into the upper 70s to around 80.Â
