Columbia to consider $200,000 coronavirus vaccine education campaign
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The City of Columbia will consider an agreement for a coronavirus vaccine education campaign during its meeting Monday night.
A company called Bucket Media would head the campaign.
Bucket Media, which has a location in Columbia, will work with the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services to promote vaccine education.
The campaign is in hopes that giving people the right information will encourage them to get the vaccine.
The deal will cost the city $200,728. The funds will come out of Columbia's general fund but is expected to be reimbursed by the state health department and CARES Act funding by February.
Bucket Media would be contracted to design the campaign, film and create the product, then place advertising through all forms of media.
The contract shows advertisements will be placed in print, radio, and broadcast television, along with social media and services such as Google/YouTube, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Pandora and Spotify.
Governor Mike Parson says the state expects 73,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine to be delivered to the state this week.
ABC 17 News contacted Bucket Media but has not yet heard back.
