Columbia group works to give back amid COVID-19 pandemic

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A local outreach group is working to make sure Columbia residents have the food and supplies they need during the coronavirus outbreak.

The Beulah Ralph Elementary School Outreach Committee is accepting donations to hand out to students, their families and other Columbia residents in need.

Donations can be dropped off in designated boxes at two locations:

  • Thornbrook Clubhouse, 4300 Thornbrook Terrace
  • Weichert Realtors, First Tier, 3700 Monterey Drive, Suite A

The group is asking for non-perishable food items, toilet paper, antibacterial wipes, hand sanitizer and other items. They also accept monetary donations via cash, check, Venmo or PayPal.

Ahead of the closure of Columbia Public Schools, the group delivered 175 Buddy Packs to students at Beulah Ralph Elementary School and Derby Ridge Elementary School.

Tuesday will be the last day of classes until next month.

The group is now working to deliver donations door-to-door to residents in need.
