I-70 exit ramp to Business Loop in Columbia to permanently close next week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

An exit ramp from Interstate 70 in Columbia to Business Loop 70 will permanently close on Tuesday, Nov. 12, according to a Monday press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The release says crews will restrict access to westbound Exit 128 that night. Crews will use the closed ramp for excavation and to move material, but a date for the ramp to be removed has not been announced. Motorists will have to use Exit 127 (Range Line Street) to reach Business Loop.

The removal is part of the Improve I-70 Project, which aims to make Interstate 70 at least three lanes across Missouri, with a major portion of the project occurring between Columbia and Kingdom City. Previous reporting indicates that the project is expected to be completed in late 2027.
