Open house meetings announced for Improve I-70 Project this week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Transportation in a press release announced a pair of open house meetings will occur this week in regards to the Improve I-70 Project.

The project will add a third lane to Interstate 70 from Highway 63 in Columbia to the Kingdom City exit. According to the release, there will also be improvements at those interchanges.

The first meeting will occur 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Boone Electric Cooperative located at 1413 Range Line Street in Columbia. The second will occur 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Kingdom City Hall at 5584 Dunn Drive in Kingdom City. The information at each meeting will be the same, the release says.

According to the release, the meetings will provide an opportunity for residents, businesses and travelers to learn about and provide comments regarding the planned improvements. No formal presentation will be made.

Previous reporting indicates that the project is expected to be completed in late 2027.
