New market opens at Columbia Regional Airport

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A new “grab-and-go” market has opened at Columbia Regional Airport.

Tailwinds Market will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and allows travelers to make purchases by swiping a credit or debit card or using a payment cellphone application and then grabbing items, a press release and officials say.

The Columbia City Council approved an agreement involving “Just Walk Out” technology in November 2023.

The release says that items for sale include sandwiches, salads, snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ice cream, sunglasses, phone chargers, personal care items, coffee and more.

The market will be operated by Jackson Brothers, a refreshment services provider in the Mid-Missouri area, the release says.
