A crash involving a motorcycle led police to shut down part of an Interstate 70 interchange Tuesday.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. at Providence Road and Interstate 70. An ABC 17 News reporter saw a crashed motorcycle at the scene that appeared to have hit an SUV.

It wasn't immediately clear how the crash happened or whether anyone was hurt but an ambulance was at the scene. Emergency dispatchers sent out a public alert saying the intersection was closed at about 5:15 p.m.

Boone County Joint Communications announced at 5:40 p.m. that all lanes were reopened.
