Callaway County celebrates bicentennial

FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

Today marks the bicentennial of Callaway County.

The county commission hosted a ceremony at the county courthouse this morning.

A monument was dedicated for the 200 year anniversary.

Boone and Cole counties celebrated their bicentennials earlier this month.

Callaway County was organized in 1820 and was named after Captain James Callaway who was killed by Indians.
