Search back on for man who jumped into Missouri River

BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said it resumed its search Monday for a man who was seen jumping into the Missouri River.

The patrol said on Twitter that searchers resumed looking for the man at 8 a.m. Monday. The agency said Sunday that it was searching for a man in his 30s after a trooper saw the man jump into the river.

The patrol said the trooper pulled up to help a motorist on the Missouri River bridge at Boonville. As the trooper pulled up to the vehicle the man jumped over the bridge railing. The man resurfaced then disappeared.

The search, which includes Missouri Conservation Department agents, Cooper County fire departments and the Howard County Sheriff's Office.
