Harrisburg man dies, another suspected of DWI in Boone County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Harrisburg man was killed in a Saturday crash and another man is suspected of causing the deadly rollover while intoxicated.

An online crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol states that David Williams, 29 was driving on Route J, north of Drane Road just after midnight, along with Corry Crowley, 27. The crash occurred when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and Williams overcorrected, causing the vehicle to travel off the left side of the road.

The vehicle then hit a fence and rolled, throwing both Williams and Crowley from the vehicle.

Crowley was pronounced dead at the scene. Williams was arrested on suspicion of DWI causing the death of another person. He was not in the Boone County Jail on Monday.

Williams was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries. According to the report, neither man was wearing a seatbelt.
