COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department taped off a street on Tuesday in a neighborhood just south of Interstate 70 near St. Charles Road.

CPD wrote on its social media at 5:52 p.m. that it was investigating a shots-fired call in the 5700 block of Canaveral Drive.

Officers put up police tape on Canaveral Drive and appeared to have put up tape near the front yard of a home. An EMS truck, two Columbia firetrucks and more than 10 law enforcement vehicles were seen behind the police tape.

Police utilized a drone at the scene.

Police taped off the street before the sign that indicated it was the Eastport Village subdivision.
