Man arrested in Callaway County, accused of stealing neighbor’s firearms

CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A man is accused of stealing numerous firearms and firearm parts from his neighbor in Callaway County, according to a social media post from the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.
Joseph Underwood, 33 was arrested on Feb. 6. He's being held in the Callaway County jail on multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, first degree burglary and stealing over $750.
The post states deputies responded to a reported burglary on County Road 219 on Jan. 25.
The homeowner told the sheriff's office that numerous firearms, firearm parts, and reloaded equipment had been stolen, the post says.
Deputies say they linked the burglary to Underwood, who had been arrested by the Fulton Police Department earlier in the month for unlawful possession of a firearm, tampering with physical evidence, and resisting arrest.
One of the firearms Underwood allegedly had in his possession when he was arrested in January was one of the ones stolen in the burglary, according to the post.
Deputies recovered $2,000 worth of stolen property, along with three additional firearms.
At the time of his arrest, Underwood was under the supervision of the Missouri Department of Corrections Probation and Parole, the post says.
