Ozark man sentenced five years in fatal DWI case

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

An Ozark, Missouri, man was sentenced to five years in prison for a fatal 2022 crash that occurred in Jefferson City.

Robert Harris, 60, pleaded guilty on Jan. 9 to DWI that cause the death of another person, second-degree involuntary manslaughter and second-degree assault. He was previously charged with DWI causing the death of another, DWI causing serious personal injury, second-degree involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault and armed criminal action.

Harris is currently being held at the Cole County Jail.

According to previous reporting, on Oct. 22, one person in a 2020 Ford Fusion was killed after Harris had crossed the center line on Country Club Drive in Jefferson City and hit the Ford head-on.
