Missouri Department of Conservation invites public to Runge’s 30th birthday
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Missouri Department of Conservation is encouraging the public to come out and celebrate Runge’s Nature Center's 30th birthday Saturday. The event will be free to the public and all ages are welcome.
The celebration is set to start at 10:00 a.m. and run until 3:00 p.m. at the Runge Conservation Nature Center in Jefferson City at 330 Commerce Dr.
Organizers say during Saturday's event, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in several activities including interactive stations along the trails, encountering live animals, and games.
Inside Runge's Nature Center, visitors can watch musical performances centered around nature themes and tour the center’s exhibits.
You can find the full list of events and activities here.
Organizers say parking at Runge Nature Center will be limited and visitors are asked to park at the Missouri Department of Conservation Headquarters at 2901 West Truman Blvd once spots fill.
However, a shuttle will be provided to take people to the nature center.
Spokeswoman for the Missouri Department of Conservation Central and Northeast, Maddie Est says by having these events, they are hoping to introduce people to new experiences so they will be willing to try on their own.
"A huge part of what we do is for the people of missouri. So if we can communicate with them and teach them about nature, get them excited about nature. It benefits us all," said Est.
