Cardinals lose road series in Boston

BOSTON, Ma. (KMIZ)

The St. Louis Cardinals fall 6-4 on Sunday to lose the series in Boston 2-1.

Sunday's game was led by Andre Pallante on the road who gave up two earned runs on four hits and recorded four strikeouts.

Drew VerHagen struggled in relief giving up three runs in one inning.

The Cardinals bats were not as lively as they would have liked with just .... hits on the day, three of which came from Tyler O'Neill.

Going into the ninth, the red birds trailing 6-1 but after a three-run shot from Juan Yepez they came within two.

Up next - St. Louis will stay on the road and play in a divisional series against the Brewers. Game one will be Monday at 7:10 p.m.
