A Jefferson City man has entered a guilty plea to two counts of sexual misconduct involving a child according to the Cole County prosecutor.

Cole County Prosecutor Locke Thompson says that Shane Robert Steck, 42, admitted to exposing himself to two juvenile victims in a restroom at Riverside Park in Jefferson City on separate occasions in July of 2021.

Steck was sentenced on each count to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. Steck, who has remained in the Cole County Jail since his July 2021 arrest, will serve an additional 120 days of shock time in the Missouri Department of Corrections before being released to the supervision of the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole. The remainder of Steck’s sentence will be suspended, contingent upon his compliance with Probation and Parole.

Thompson reports that an additional count of sexual misconduct and three counts of attempted child enticement were dismissed as a part of the plea agreement.
