JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man that shot himself while in custody of the Cole County Jail has pleaded guilty to trafficking meth and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Brandon McNeese attempted to sell four ounces of meth to a confidential source in August 2018, according to the plea deal. Over several weeks, the confidential source bought meth multiple times from McNeese.

McNeese admitted in the plea agreement that he knew he was a felon but still possessed the gun that he shot himself.

McNeese was in custody in Nov. 2019 when he shot himself.
