Joseph Elledge set to appear in court Friday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Joseph Elledge is set to appear in a hearing at the Boone County Courthouse, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

There aren't details as to what is expected to be discussed at the hearing, after it was scheduled just eight days ago on Aug. 12.

The hearing is one of two scheduled for Elledge before his first-degree murder case is set to go to trial on Nov. 1.

This, just weeks after a judge decided to allow secret recordings made by both Elledge and Mengqi Ji as evidence in the case.

Elledge was charged in Feb. 2020 with first-degree murder in the death of his wife.

Investigators originally believed Ji's body was located in the Lamine River, however a search that wrapped up in late November of 2020 came up empty.

Police then found human remains at Rock Bridge State Park in late March of this year, before identifying them as Ji's in April.
