Winter weather causes at least two rollover crashes

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported two rollover crashes on Sunday.

Both crashes sent their respective drivers to local hospitals.

The first crash happened at 2:10 a.m. on Route W, 79 feet north of South Rock Creek Road.

Anthony Kerns was travelling south on Route W when his car began to slide on the snow covered road. The car traveled off the right side of the road, went down an embankment and overturned into a creek.

An ambulance transported Kerns to Capital Region Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The second crash happened at 2:26 a.m. on Highway 52, 142 feet west of Cottonwood Road.

James Cios Jr. was travelling west on Highway 52 when his car slid off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

An ambulance transported Cios Jr. to Bothwell Hospital with serious injuries.
