Officials investigating East St. Louis homicide after body found in school parking lot

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMIZ)

Fox 2 News in St. Louis reports Illinois State Police are investigating a homicide in East St. Louis after the body of an unidentified man was found Sunday morning.

According to Illinois State Police, East St. Louis police received a call about the body shortly before 8 a.m.

The body was found in the parking lot of Mason-Clark Middle School.

East St. Louis police requested state help in taking over the homicide investigation.

An autopsy is pending.
