COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 25 person crews with Columbia Public Works reported to work overnight Monday.

According to a media release, crews will focus on first and second priority routes Monday night until the snow stops. They were able to work on third priority routes Monday morning, but had to move back on to first and second priority routes.

The city says first priority routes are near normal, while second priority routes are passable with slick spots.

The city says low temperatures overnight may have an impact on the salt it uses to treat the roads.

Greg Edington with Boone County Road and Bridge said crews in the county will most likely use a salt and sand mix that can be more effective during low temperatures.

County crews will also be out overnight plowing and treating the roads.

Edington said they have had to hit some areas they cleared Sunday due to the second snow.
