Boone County preparing for possible winter weather

Boone County Road and Bridge prepared its snowplows and crews Monday for potential winter weather.

“We had all of our crews, all of our truck drivers, outfit their trucks. Put on their plows and spreaders and just make sure the trucks are in good working order,” said Bryan Boyce with Boone County Road and Bridge.

Crews also ran their snow routes on Monday to make sure there weren’t any issues with the roadways.

Boyce said the department plans to keep plenty of salt on hand after last year’s winter threw a few curveballs at mid-Missouri.

“We’ve got some coming, it’s on the way and should be here in the next few days,” Boyce said. “As of right now, we’ve got enough to get us by for a while.”

While crews are prepared for a winter weather event, Boyce said the department will keep an eye on forecasts before making any calls to send the crews out.
