Columbia city leaders scheduled to talk at joint meeting Friday

A meeting scheduled for Friday morning will focus on items from Columbia Public Schools.

Along with CPS, leaders from Boone County, the City of Columbia, the Chamber of Commerce and the University of Missouri will all be at the City Hall meeting.

The groups are set to discuss a possible bond issue for CPS that would help the new elementary addition, critical safety needs and ADA accessibility.

Other items in the CPS portion of the agenda include:

The parent-community university, which helps parents understand more about their children’s schooling
Elementary attendance areas
Partnerships with MU and Columbia

Along with the CPS discussions, city officials are scheduled to talk about workforce development.
