City staff, residents to meet about Columbia sewer project
Members of the public and City of Columbia staff will hear about a project to update the sewer on Tupelo Place on Wednesday.
An interested parties meeting will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Columbia City Hall conference room 1C. Columbia sewer utility workers are looking for a way to reduce sanitary overflows at the sewer line on Tupelo Place and Larch Court.
The project is scheduled to start late next year. It’s expected to cost about $150,000.
The city’s plan is to redirect the sewer line in the area. Crews will also replace the sewer infrastructure to improve the sewer system on Tupelo and Larch.
City staff will go over the construction project at Wednesday’s meeting and answer citizens questions.
