Police respond to multiple business break-ins in south Columbia

Columbia police are looking for several suspects after multiple burglaries off of Peachtree Drive early Saturday morning.

Sgt. Dallas Dollens said the police received a call at around 5:20 a.m. after an employee of one of the businesses found people inside the building.

One employee at The Axe House said the suspects broke into the business by creating a hole in the wall on the back side of the building.

She said they did not find any money missing from the business.

She also said police have pictures of one of the suspects, but police have not verified this information.

Dollens said no one was injured and it did not appear the burglars used any kind of weapon in the burglary. He said officers are currently trying to find out what was taken from the businesses.

Both police officers and the fire department were at the scene.
