Jefferson City police find suspected drug dealers
Two men were charged on Friday, accused of dealing drugs in the Jefferson City area.
Mark A. Shannon had almost more than nine pounds of marijuana, 23 ecstasy tablets, 56 grams of “crack” cocaine, 28 grams of meth and 100 packaged oxycodone pills between two homes on Kengborg Hills Road, court documents said. When Jefferson City police and the drug task force searched the homes on Friday, they also found more than $2,000 in cash as well as packaging materials and scales.
Shannon was charged with first-degree attempted drug trafficking and three counts of delivery of a controlled substance.
Police and a SWAT team also searched the home of Quashawn D. Holder in the 1100 block of E. McCarty Street on Thursday. During the search, police found a stolen gun and narcotics packaging materials, according to a probable cause statement. Holder was not home at the time of the initial search.
When Holder later arrived to the residence, police returned and found unidentified white capsules and 12 rocks of heroin as well as a rifle, court documents said. Holder had a felony and was not supposed to have a gun. Police also found marijuana packaged for sale.
Holder was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.
