A gorgeous afternoon unfolding in Mid-Missouri

FRIDAY: Light showers from this morning have tracked east of the viewing area, just leaving us with some cloud cover for some of our southeastern counties. We’ll warm into the upper 40s and low 50s this afternoon, with most of us seeing ample sunshine and winds out of the west up to 10 mph.

TONIGHT: With clear skies temperatures will drop into the mid 30s, creating for a bit of a warmer night thanks to the southerly flow. Winds out of the southwest up to 8 mph by morning will still create for wind chills in the upper 20s.

EXTENDED: The weekend looks nice for early January with mostly sunny skies Saturday but a few more clouds Sunday. Temperatures warm into the upper 50s, topping out at 60 in a few spots this weekend. Rain moves in Sunday night as temperatures fall into the 40s. Monday will start off wet but rain will decrease through the afternoon with 10″ to .40″ expected. It will still be mild Monday with hgihs in the mid 50s and continuing in the low to mid 50s much of the week before another chance of rain arrives by Friday with cooler air to follow.
