Cloudy skies and rain return by Tuesday afternoon
MONDAY: A beautiful afternoon is underway across Mid-Missouri, with temperatures expected to climb into the upper 60s and lower 70s. With ample sunshine, a few spots may even jump into the mid 70s in extreme southwestern parts of Mid-Missouri. Winds through the day will remain out of the SSW up to 12 mph.
TONIGHT: Temperatures will remain mild overnight as clouds build into our area. By morning, lows will have only dropped into the mid 50s with winds out of the south up to 14 mph.
EXTENDED: Beyond Monday, things become unsettled. We’re continuing to track a cold front arriving by Tuesday afternoon. After a dry start to the morning, showers will increase after 11 AM, with some rumbles of thunder. Showers and t-storms will slowly push to the southeast through the day and continue into the evening. Rain totals look to be split along the HWY 63 corridor, with higher amounts east of Hwy 63. For now it looks like areas west of Hwy 63 will see upwards of .50″, with areas east of Hwy 63 picking up just under .75″. Luckily, we dry out into Wednesday morning, but some sprinkles could still be around Wednesday evening for the trick or treaters. Temperatures will be in the low 50s by Halloween evening. Thursday is dry, but by Friday another quick moving system bring a shot at rain with a big cool down for the weekend. Tune in to ABC 17 News on-air and online for the latest forecast updates.
