Club Vogue shooting suspect charged
The man accused of firing a gun outside Club Vogue early Sunday was angry because he was kicked out of the business, according to charging documents.
Columbia police arrested Andrew Barnette-Kruger after being sent to the club in the 900 block of Business Loop 70 E. at about 5 a.m. Sunday.
Barnette-Kruger grabbed a gun from his vehicle and fired it into the air four times before speeding off after Club Vogue employees kicked him out of the business and told him not to return, Columbia Police Department Officer Nathan Turner wrote in a probable cause statement.
Police pulled Barnette-Kruger over near the club and found 10 grams of cocaine, $760 in cash, digital scales and a gun in his vehicle, according to the statement. Officers smelled alcohol on his breath, as well, the statement said. Barnette-Kruger is also a felon barred by law from possessing a gun.
Barnette-Kruger was in the Boone County Jail on Tuesday on a $100,000 bond on charges of drug distribution, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a gun. An initial court appearance was set for Tuesday afternoon.
