Cole County EMS approaches full staff after 13 recent hires
Officials said Cole County Emergency Medical Services is out of the woods after a staffing shortfall in early 2018.
In a social media post Thursday night, the department announced the number of recently hired full-time and part-time employees has reached 13.
“We are excited and proud to announce that our recruitment team has done an excellent job in the past several weeks,” the social media post said.
The department said seven full-time and two part-time paramedics were hired in the past several weeks, as well as two full-time and two part-time EMTs.
The last of the new hires will begin September 10.
“This leaves CCEMS with only two remaining open field positions, and several more interviews are forthcoming,” the social media post said. “Our Training Officer and Logistics Officer interviews will begin in a few weeks, as we sift through the resumes to find the best candidates to move forward in our process.”
