Four people, including one juvenile, are in custody after a stolen truck crash in Callaway County.
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Department said that 23-year-old Michael Markwell, 19-year-old Jason Goff and 18-year-old Joshua Kennemore are in the county jail for stealing a truck in Millersburg on July 24. Markwell and Goff face additional charges of stealing a firearm, while Markwell also is accused of unlawful use of a weapon.
A 16-year-old is also in custody, but a news release from the department does not specify why.
Markwell, Goff and Kennemore had all been charged as of Friday night.
Callaway County deputies arrested Markwell and Kennemore after finding the stolen Ford F-150 truck crashed on County Road 1068 near Auxvasse. Kennemore was injured in the driver’s seat, the release said, and law enforcement found Markwell about a mile away on County Road 823 in Audrain County.
Lieutenant Curtis Hall told ABC 17 News that Goff was arrested on July 26 in the 500 block of Maple Street in Mexico.
Hall said Markwell also admitted to shooting one of the stolen guns from the truck.
The release said deputies, along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Audrain County Sheriff’s Office and East Central Drug Task Force served a search warrant on Friday at a house in the 500 block of North Wade Street in Mexico. Law enforcement found property taken from the truck, the release said, and a 16-year-old was taken into custody there.
