Two teenagers in custody accused of damaging Mexico shopping center
Two teenagers accused of vandalizing a shopping center in Mexico, Missouri on Wednesday morning are now in custody.
According to the Mexico Department of Public Safety, a 16-year-old boy was taken into custody in the 100 block of South Agricultural Street around 5:16 p.m. Wednesday.
Police officers said Chandler R. Douse, 17, of Mexico, later turned himself in at the department’s headquarters shortly after 5:45 p.m.
Douse was booked and taken to the Audrain County Jail on possible charges of first-degree property damage.
At last check, Douse hadn’t been formally charged.
Both teenagers are accused of damaging several businesses and vehicles at the West Plaza Shopping Center between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Investigators have not released the cost of the damage the teens are accused of causing.
