Man captured after leading police on foot chase

Maurice Rollins was arrested was arrested Tuesday evening after he led officers on a foot chase.

Officers originally approached Rollins at a bus stop in the 400 block of Ellis Boulevard in Jefferson City. Rollins started to walk away from police, and when he failed to stop, multiple units were called to chase him down.

Once Rollins was in custody, officers found narcotics and the magazine to a firearm in his possession. And after a short search of the area, they found the semi-automatic pistol.

Rollins had multiple warrants out for his arrest, including felony possession of narcotics and resisting arrest. The Jefferson City Police Department said new charges will be filed for narcotics possession, resisting arrest and weapons possession.
