Severe Weather Possible This Afternoon
TODAY: A Weather Alert Day has been issued for Saturday for the potential of severe storms. Early morning storms will decrease in intensity as they move east and out of the area later this morning. However, depending on how fast clouds can clear behind the morning rain, new storm development could occur as early as 1-2 PM ahead of a cold front. All of Mid-Missouri is in a slight risk for severe storms with the primary threats damaging winds and large hail. There is also a low tornado threat with these storms. It looks like areas southeast of HWY 54 in the Ozarks have a better chance of storms Saturday afternoon. Temperatures will reach the mid 80s with winds shifting to the northwest as storms move out by early evening.
TONIGHT: More pleasant weather will be moving into Mid-Missouri starting tonight. Temperatures will dip to near 60 with a northwesterly wind blowing around 6-10 mph.
EXTENDED: The better day of the weekend to get out and enjoy the outdoors will be Sunday as we see beautiful conditions with temperatures in the low 80s and lower humidity than we’ve gotten used to. Next week appears to be dry with temperatures warming up throughout the week toward the lower 90s by Friday.
