Weekend storms lead to beneficial rainfall and a few storm reports
After an active weekend, mid-Missouri finally saw a good dose of moderate to even heavy rainfall that helped wet the abnormally dry ground. Along with heavy downpours Sunday night, some storms intensified to strong to severe levels bringing some localized gusty conditions.
With Sunday evening’s system we saw anywhere from 1-2″ inches of rain by the end of the weekend. Our northern counties missed out on the heaviest amounts, but counties like Camden, Phelps, Pulaski, and Maries saw enough rain to produce some flooding issues through the night and morning.
Along with a good soaking, storms produced some damage across the area. Here are the storm reports from last night:
– 6: 45 PM, Climax Springs, Camden County: Thunderstorm winds damage causing for uprooted trees.
– 7:25 PM, Tipton, Moniteau County: High winds causing for trees blown down and tree limbs scattered around town.
– 8:00 PM, Ozarks Springs, Pulaski County: Thunderstorm winds downed on tree on State Highway T.
– 8:13 PM, Columbia, Boone County: Trained storm spotter clocked a wind gust at 66 mph.
– 12:45 AM, Dixon, Maries County: High water levels creates for flooded roadway near the Maries River.
With high water levels Flood Advisories and Warning have been issued for Benton, Camden, Phelps, Pulaski, Miller, Morgan, and Maries Counties until 9:15 AM or 10:00 AM on Monday morning.
