Rain moves back in with changeable temperatures
TONIGHT: A developing storm system to our west will lift a warm front through Mid-Missouri overnight which will lead to rising temperatures, reaching the low to mid 40s by morning with increasing showers and isolated thunderstorms. Patchy fog is possible overnight. A few strong to severe storms are possible which could produce large hail, mainly south of I-70 where we have a marginal severe threat tonight. Southeast winds will be steady from 9-12 mph.
TUESDAY: You’ll need both the umbrella and jacket as the weather will be changeable through the day. Scattered showers and isolated t-storms are likely in the morning, moving to the southeast through early afternoon as a cold front moves southeast. Any lingering storms near I-44 in the afternoon could be strong or severe. Temperatures will reach the upper 40s to near 50 in the morning but will fall through the afternoon behind the front, to near 40 by 7 PM. Also, it will be windy with westerly winds shifting to the northwest, gusting up to 35 mph.
EXTENDED: Wednesday morning looks cold behind the front as temperatures begin in the low to mid 20s and we struggle to reach the lower 40s, but we will see sunshine. The active and cold weather pattern sticks around, and clouds will increase Thursday ahead of the next upper level wave which will bring a chance of rain Thursday night into Friday, possibly mixing with snow Friday night before ending. Another chance of rain moves in Sunday as temperatures stay cool, only reaching the low 50s. Stay tuned to ABC 17 for the latest forecast and updates.
