At least one taken to hospital after hitting semi-trailer on I-70

UPDATE (8:10 a.m.): The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the driver of the van as Stacey Hawkins, 44, from Columbia.

Hawkins was transported to the hospital with minor injuries according to a crash report. ABC 17 News is working to clarify if any one else was injured in the crash.

Original story: Two people were taken to the hospital early Monday morning after they crashed on I-70, Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

According to dispatch records, the crash happened near mile marker 122 eastbound around 12:30 a.m.

Dispatch records also show the right lane was temporarily closed because of the crash.

Troopers at the scene told ABC 17 News that the driver clipped the back of a tractor-trailer, which caused the car to swerve off the roadway.

Troopers said the tractor-trailer was not damaged and the car was only slightly damaged.

Two of the occupants in the car were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, troopers said.
