Trash, carcasses left under bridges on Audrain County’s ‘Dump Road’
Audrain County residents have coined the area around two bridges on Audrain Road 353 “Dump Road” because of the trash, furniture and animal carcasses that have been dumped there.
According to residents, this dumping has been going on for years.
Audrain County Sheriff Matthew Oller told ABC 17 the Missouri Conservation Commission is investigating and the Sheriff’s Office is assisting because of certain laws about dumping animal carcasses.
Sheriff Oller also told ABC 17 his office has arrested people in the past for dumping, and there are more spots where it is reported more often.
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources says that dumping can contaminate soil, drinking water and can raise the chance of disease carried by insects. You can submit a concern to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources by clicking here.
