Family continues to seek answers in homicide investigation
Exactly a year ago, Edmond “Ricky” Randolph Jr.’s homicide investigation began. His family continues to seek answers after no arrests have been made.
25-year-old Edmond “Ricky” Randolph Jr. of Columbia was found dead inside an apartment building in the 2900 block of Leeway Drive near Brown Station Road after a 911 caller reported a man in cardiac arrest.
When emergency responders arrived at the apartment, according to Police, they discovered that Randolph Jr. had been shot and was dead.
Nicole Craig, Randolph Jr.’s mom, told ABC 17 News after visiting her son’s grave in New Orleans that the days never gets easier, with no answers as to who killed her son.
“I’m praying to God that somebody does the right thing for my child,” Craig said. “I mean he is no longer here, he will never ever be here again.”
Randolph Jr. leaves behind four kids, and a fiancee. His mother describes Randolph Jr. as a charismatic guy who loved to tell jokes.
Earlier this year, CrimeStoppers announced they will now be taking personally donated funds, after an anonymous donor wanted to donate money to this homicide investigation. The donor gave an additional $5,000, making it a total of $6,500 in cash, for a tip leading to the arrest of Randolph Jr.’s killer.
“It’s so heartbreaking that as small as Columbia is, nobody wants to say anything,” Craig said. “That’s what’s killing me the most.”
