UPDATE: Fulton man caught in St. Louis after leading authorities on chase Friday
UPDATE 6/3 9 a.m.: Callaway County deputies were notified that Raymond Ryan was taken into custody in St. Louis around 7:45 a.m. Saturday.
Deputies are not releasing any more information at this time.
ORIGINAL STORY: A suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a minor was spotted driving on State Road O in Fulton Friday afternoon.
A chase ensued between the suspect, Raymond Ryan, and deputies throughout Callaway County.
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office told ABC 17 News there were four children inside the vehicle, but one of the children was abandoned in eastern Callaway County during the chase. That child was taken into protective custody.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol joined the pursuit with a helicopter.
It continued through Montgomery and Gasconade counties before deputies lost sight of Ryan in Hermann.
The chase was picked back up in Franklin County by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and continued into St. Louis County.
That’s where the suspect ditched the vehicle and the other children were safely recovered.
After an extensive search, Ryan was not found and a felony warrant with no bond was issued.
