Potentially rainy end to the weekend

TONIGHT: Lingering showers and thunderstorms will remain in southern Missouri throughout the early evening. These storms will quickly die as we head into sunset. As we dry up we will remain partly cloudy with a low around 67 degrees. Winds through the day will be out of the southeast under 10 mph.

SUNDAY: The best chance for storm coverage comes as we head into Sunday. An approaching cold front along with daytime heating will help spark more storms. Once again the greatest threat for rain will be south of I-70. At this time, there is no threat for severe weather. The best timing of the storms looks to be from 2-9 PM.

EXTENDED: From Monday through Thursday night it looks like a tranquil pattern with surface high pressure building with days in the low to mid 80s and nights in the mid 60s. Right now, it is looking like the next system will move in Thursday night, bringing a chance of showers. For additional weather updates follow us @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
